Forty-nine Youtube singers and music editors came together for this new recording of the classic Lionel Richie/Michael Jackson song, “We Are The World”.
This version of the song sounds amazing, and even much better than the official remake. Kudos to Lisa Lavie for pulling all of this together.

by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.05, 2010, under articles
Lady Gaga has taken some heat over reportedly “snubbing” the 25th anniversary and re-recording of “We Are The World”.
She was rumored to be part of the charity song for Haiti, but she’s saying she didn’t snub anyone and wasn’t supposed to be included in it.
She says, “I was never supposed to do We Are The World…I believe that they may have asked about it, but I was unable to do it.” (continue reading…)
Lady Gaga turned down ‘We Are The World’ remake?
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.02, 2010, under articles
Rumor has it that Lady Gaga was set to join in on the recording of the remake of “We Are The World” to benefit Haiti.
We’ve just learned that Gaga had made no such plans. Why Gaga, why?!??
LadyGaga.nu reports:
“They literally begged her to come,” a source said. “She turned them down. She didn’t get it.”
It’s a shame she declined to be a part of this historical recording. It would have been better with her recording a solo for the song.
Paris & Prince Michael Jackson to record ‘We Are The World’
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.01, 2010, under articles
According to sources, Paris and Prince Michael Jackson are set to be included in Monday’s re-recording of “We Are The World”. The proceeds from the newer version of the song will benefit those affected by the tragedy in Haiti.
A source said, “Prince Michael and Paris know that helping others was as important to their daddy as music. That is why they really want to be part of the re-recording of this extraordinary song.”
It was touching to see them take the stage at tonight’s Grammys and you could really tell how nervous they were.
As far as the new recording is concerned, we haven’t heard yet as to whether or not the kids will get their own solos or if they will be blended in with other singers.
