Yankovic Brings The Party To The CIA With Cyrus Spoof
by Stephen VanDyke on Jun.22, 2011, under articles
Weird Al is throwing his hat in the political arena with his latest hit-sucker recognizable song with new lyrics and a nerd voice musical parody Party in the CIA. Fans of pop singer Miley Cyrus will instantly recognize it as a spoof of Party in the USA. Even though lyrics are intentionally typed out in lowercase to go with the bubblegum pop feel, the subject matter is anything but cute:
i moved out to langely recently
with a plain and simple dream;
wanna infiltrate some third-world place
and topple their regime.their men in black with their matching suitcases;
where everything’s on a need-to-know basis;
agents got that swagger;
everyone so cloak and dagger.i’m feelin’ nervous but i’m really kinda wishing
for another undercover missionthat’s when the red alert came on the radio
and i put my earpiece on!
got my dark sunglasses on!
and i had my weapon drawn!so i get my handcuffs,
my cyanide pills,
my classified dossier!tappin’ the phones like yeah, shreddin’ the files like yeah,
and then i rised all the enemy spies i’ve got to neutralize today.

Weird Al joins The Lonely Island?
by Roberta Ferguson on Feb.02, 2010, under articles
We’re not sure if there’s any truth to this, but on Sunday, Weird Al Yankovic tweeted that he is a part of The Lonely Island now.
If it’s true, then how cool would that be? He said, “Okay, it’s settled – I’m the new member of The Lonely Island.”
Nice! We can hope, right?
Weird Al Yankovic says he owes everything to Michael Jackson
by Roberta Ferguson on Jul.13, 2009, under articles
I don’t know about you, but when Weird Al Yankovic came out with his famous parodies to Michael Jackson’s songs, “Beat It” and “Bad”, I was cracking up. Here we had the first comedian trying to parody the late King of Pop and it was cool. He did his renditions, “Eat It” and “Fat” with the approval of Michael, and they were spot on.
After Michael’s untimely demise, Al says that he owes everything to Michael, and rightfully so. (continue reading…)
Weird Al’s parody of T.I.’s Whatever You Like
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.09, 2008, under articles
Weird Al is the king of parodies, there’s no question about that. This is my new favorite from him. Here, he’s parodying T.I.’s song Whatever You Like.
Of recording the song, Al spoke via his MySpace blog:
“My new single -– which is being released on iTunes tomorrow -– is a parody of T.I.’s smash hit “Whatever You Like.†The T.I. song has been number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 5 weeks now – and this will in fact mark the first time in my career that I’ve been able to release a parody while the original song was still number 1.
Big thanks go out to T.I and his manager for their support – not only was he nice enough to give me his permission and blessing for this parody, but he responded so quickly that I was able to make everything happen insanely fast. In less than a two week period – seriously – I was able to come up with an idea for the song, get legal permission for the song, write the song, record the song, mix the song, master the song, upload the song to my label and deliver the song to iTunes. Talk about instant gratification!â€
I love it when stuff like this comes together so quickly. It’s great.
