Our commentary:

It sounds like a bona fide country song and it’s definitely very Tate. He sounds better than the original singer and it’s very energetic. We’re at a Tate Stevens concert! The special effects are cool, too. A+

Judges’ commentary:

Britney Spears said at this point in the competition it has to be his best and she didn’t think it was his best. Demi Lovato disagreed, saying that it was a “freaking amazing performance”. He totally brought her home and made her feel like she is in Texas. Simon Cowell said he could’ve easily chosen something mushy to get the votes, but he brought the song that he’d want to record. It was one of his favorite performances and he wasn’t being controlled by someone and he was being himself. He said Tate looks like a man who believes he is going to win this competition. L.A. Reid said that he lit the stage on fire and it was the most fun he’s had on the show.
