The Vampire Diaries Recap: Season 3 Episode 16 '1912' 3/15/12

Tonight the CW’s biggest hit show Vampire Diaries returns with a flashback into Mystic Falls history and how Damon Salvatore became the man he is today. With all the murder crimes going on in town Sheriff Forbes, Caroline’s mother, has her hands full but she still doesn’t want Damon’s help in solving it.

When we left off in the last episode, we found out that the murderer is none other than the good, or shall I say evil, Dr. Fell, who Alaric had been seeing. Unfortunately for Alaric he found out that she was the murderer but a little too late but we don’t really have a clear picture of his fate. When the last episode ended all we saw was Dr. Fell shooting her gun at him.

Meanwhile, Matt and Elena are on the prowl for any evidence they can find in order to link Dr. Fell to all of these murders in the town. Will they be able to come up with something for Sheriff Forbes so she can arrest Dr. Fell? And just exactly what is Rebekah up to now? How will Klaus fit into all this craziness?

Join us here for the live recap of the show at 8pm. Keep refreshing the page for all the up-to-the minute details.

THE MURDER MYSTERY DEEPENS – The present-day murders in Mystic Falls remind Damon of a similar crime spree a century earlier. In flashbacks to 1912, Damon recalls a beautiful vampire, Sage (guest star Cassidy Freeman), who showed him a whole new way to exist. Sheriff Forbes warns Damon not to get involved in her investigation, but Damon is convinced she’s going after the wrong suspect. Elena and Matt resort to breaking and entering in their search for evidence to prove Dr. Fell (guest star Torrey Devitto) is a murderer. For reasons known only to her, Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt), becomes interested in locating one of the town’s oldest landmarks. Finally, Elena comes to a new understanding of the path her life has taken, and Damon makes an emotional confession to Stefan.
