Tonight the CW’s The Vampire Diaries returns with the conclusion of what in the hell is wrong with Alaric! Last week we found out that Dr. Fell had Alaric put in jail and then forged a death certificate time to get him out of jail. Scratching you head? We were too until the end of the episode and we found out that the ring that keeps bringing Alaric back to life every time someone tries to take him out is changing him personally. And the worst part about it is that he can’t remember when he blacks out and loses time, which he then flips out and goes rogue!
We also found out that Stefan is still fighting the blood urges and Damon manages to break him and make drink some to keep from going insane. Stefan seems to have a serious problem with control and Damon now thinks he can train Stefan to have control. This should be interesting.

FAMILY HISTORIES – A century after their first encounter, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Sage (guest star Cassidy Freeman) meet again at the ceremony to kick-off the restoration of Wickery Bridge. Damon is surprised to learn the reason Sage has returned, and pleased when she devises an unusual method to help him figure out what Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt) is up to. Abby (guest star Persia White) is having a hard time adjusting to her new reality, despite Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Caroline’s (Candice Accola) efforts to help. When Damon informs Elena (Nina Dobrev) of Stefan’s (Paul Wesley) latest struggles, she reaches out to Stefan to help her save a friend in danger, in hopes that it will help bring Stefan even closer to his humanity. Finally, when Damon discovers a new secret weapon, he lets Stefan in on the news.
