The X Factor ‘Top 8′ Live Performance Recap 11/28/12

Tonight at 8PM EST on FOX is an all new performance episode of “The X Factor USA”. Last week, we saw the double elimination of Beatrice Miller and Arin Ray. Who will be getting the axe this week? Only time will tell! In case you’ve missed last week’s show, you can read our full recap here.

Left in the competition are Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens, Vino Alan, Cece Frey, Fifth Harmony, Diamond White, Emblem3 and Paige Thomas. On tonight’s show, we will see the top eight competitors take on “number one hits” as they perform for your votes. On tomorrow night’s elimination episode, Alicia Keys will perform along with season one finalist Josh Krajcik.

The competition is getting fierce with the top three remaining the same for the past three weeks (in different order, of course). Also of note is that Cece Frey has been in the bottom two three times already, so will she be able to cut it and stick around in the competition?

As always, we will be providing you with our live, up-to-the-minute coverage of the show as it airs from 8-10PM EST. So stay tuned for our performance recap. Until then, tell us in the comments who you’ve been rooting for to win the second season of “The X Factor”!

RECAP:

Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian just informed us that it’s going to be another double elimination tomorrow night. So only six acts will survive to perform next week!

Diamond White is up first singing “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston. Not bad! It started off slow, but she brought it to life.

Up next is Vino Alan, singing his rendition of “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling”. It was just okay…The judges gave him a hard time for the performance, saying that it wasn’t entertaining. What did you think?

Taking the stage next is Paige Thomas, singing her version of “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley. Haha. She just rick-rolled the planet. Crazy song choice. The judges loved it and it totally worked for her.

Up next is Fifth Harmony performing their rendition of “Stronger” by Kelly Clarkson. This is a good, but sad performance by the fab five. Ally dedicated the song to her grandfather who just recently passed away. Sad :(

Carly Rose Sonenclar took the stage next to belt out her version of “Rolling In The Deep” by Adele. What a great song choice for her. We just love her voice. She could win the whole thing, for sure.

On the stage next is country singer Tate Stevens, performing “Somebody Like You” by Keith Urban. Not too shabby for a country track. It’s a little more upbeat than what we’re used to from Tate.

Cece Frey is up next performing “Lady Marmalade” by Christina Aguilera, Mya and Missy Elliot. Ugh, seriously? We think her days on the show are limited after that pitchy performance. Simon is right, pack a suitcase, Cece.

The world premiere for Britney’s new video with will.I.am called “Scream and Shout” is up next. It’s definitely different. Her hair is fierce in the video, but we’re not sure about the song and video just yet.

Performing last are Emblem3 with The Monkees’ hit song “I’m A Believer”. Interesting song choice for them. The male judges ate it up, but the ladies — not so much.

What was your favorite performance of the evening? Hit the comments and let us know who you think will be cut from the competition in tomorrow night’s double elimination.
