The X Factor USA Season 2 Episode 7 Recap 10/3/12

Tonight on Fox is an all new episode of “The X Factor” and it’s time for Boot Camp! In case you’ve missed last week’s auditions episode of the show, you can read our fully detailed recap here.

Tonight, all of the contestants who’ve made it through to the Boot Camp stage of the competition will be divided up into their groups. They will perform on stage in front of all of the judges. Afterward, the judges will tell each of the contestants whether or not they’ve made it through to the next stage of the competition.

The show begins at 8PM EST and we will be covering everything right here at Earsucker. Stay tuned, you won’t want to miss this! Keep refreshing often for the latest updates!

RECAP:

For the first task, the contestants will perform one song and Simon says that they have to make it original. There are 120 acts in the entire competition and by the end of the day, half of them will be going home. First on the stage is Diamond White performing “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston. A daring song choice!

Taking the stage next is a group called Sister C and it doesn’t look like the judges are feeling it. Austin Corini is next singing “Make You Feel My Love”. David Correy is next singing “Mercy” by Duffy.

Dinah Jayne Hansen is singing “Hero” by Mariah Carey and that was a good cover. Now, we’ve got a montage of some pretty good singers. Jessica Espinoza is up next singing a song, but the judges aren’t looking that impressed. Jennel Garcia is up next, performing “Sweeter” by Gavin DeGraw. She’s got a great voice!

Vino Alan is up next, singing “Bad Company” by Bad Company. Good song choice for his vocals! Not sure if the judges are buying it, but Simon has said that he’s got a good voice. Singing next is Johnny Maxwell, singing “I’ll Be Missing You” by Faith Hill and Diddy. He forgot the lyrics! Big no no!

Up next is Jordyn Foley singing something terrible. Next, is Manny, singing something awful…followed by Trevor Moran being awful. Nick Perreli is next and he’s cute, but the talent isn’t there today. Jake Garza tried to sing next, but couldn’t because of his nerves. Singing next is Citizen and another group. Emblem3 is up next performing “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Taking the stage next is Tara Simon, singing “Somebody To Love” by Queen. This is an excellent song choice for her amazing voice. Next up is Willie Jones, singing “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” by Kenny Chesney. Not a bad song choice for him, even though we’re not fans of the genre.

Singing next is Paige Thomas, singing “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston. This is a good song choice for her because not everyone can cover Whitney and do it justice. Next up is CeCe Frey, singing “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston. She is blowing this song out of the water, just like Whitney! She is the best we’ve heard so far tonight. Wow, you go girl!

The first round is over and the singers are about to find out where they stand in the competition. It’s time for the judges to deliberate on who’s staying and who’s going home. They’re calling the contestants in to the room in three groups to deliver the news.

Group A is on stage and Simon told them that they are getting through to the next round. Jennel and Paige are in that group. Group B is about to take the stage to learn their fates. L.A. told them that they are going home. In that group is Jessica Espinoza, Jordyn and Rizzloe Jones. Group C is about to take the stage to find out if they’ve made it. Demi just told them that they are through to the next round. This group has CeCe in it, along with a bunch of other hopefuls.
