Tracy Morgan Critically Injured In Serious Car Crash

Comedian, “Saturday Night Live” and “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan has been injured in a serious car crash earlier this morning. He was leaving a standup gig in Delaware on Friday night and was on his way home when the accident occurred. One person has been killed in the six car accident and Tracy’s limo was overturned as a result of the collision.

TMZ reports:

Morgan was riding in a limo bus on the NJ Turnpike after a concert … when it was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer — at least that’s the way it now appears. Tracy’s limo overturned in the wreck.

One person in the limo was killed, and three others are in critical condition, including the former star of “SNL” and “30 Rock.”

Police say 2 tractor-trailers, 2 cars, an SUV and the limo bus were involved in the chain collision — and, at this point, they do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

People has more:

Tracy Morgan was in intensive care Saturday after the limousine bus he was riding in was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on the New Jersey Turnpike, state police said.

The vehicle carrying the former Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock cast member, 45, and six others was involved in a six-vehicle accident on the turnpike near Cranbury Township at about 1 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. First Class Greg Williams told The Associated Press.

Williams said one person died in the crash that occurred in the northbound lanes of the turnpike near mile marker 71.5.

A spokesman at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey, says a patient named Tracy Morgan is in critical condition there.

Stay strong, Tracy, we are all pulling for you!

UPDATE:

Killed was James McNair, 63, of Peekskill, N.Y., who was riding in a limo bus with Morgan, according to state police Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams.

Williams said the limo bus overturned on the Turnpike.

Morgan, 45, was flown by helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit, Williams said.

The accident occurred about 1 a.m. today in the northbound lanes near the Molly Pitcher Service Area. State police said two tractor trailers were involved in the crash.

Williams said no charges were filed against either driver but “there could be a little later today.”

Morgan appeared last night at the Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. He was due to appear tonight at The Fillmore Charlotte in Charlotte, North Carolina. The show has been canceled.
