True Blood Recap For June 23, 2013: The Sun

Tonight on HBO is a brand new episode of the hit vampire show True Blood. This particular episode is titled The Sun. On last week’s show, we were left trying to decipher exactly what Bill is (Billith?) and what Warlow wants with Sookie. Have you watched last week’s show? Tonight’s episode synopsis is below:

A long-lost relative reveals himself to Jason and Sookie. After Tara is victimized by a new government weapon, Eric takes matters into his own hands in an effort to thwart Burrell’s anti-vampire initiatives. On the road to work, Sookie is drawn to a handsome stranger who shares her faerie abilities. Sam is unnerved by supernatural-rights zealot Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and is confronted by Alcide and Martha (Dale Dickey) about Emma’s future. Bill contemplates the scope of his heightened powers.

The show kicks off with Jason’s fairy grandfather firing off some fairy magic at the car he was in. Jason tells him to prove it, so his grandfather offers up some details to show he’s legit. He said he was testing Jason and he failed.

At Fangtasia, Pam is seeing that something wrong with Tara and that she is not healing. Eric comes in and tries to get the bullet out of her. It’s not actually a bullet, but a silver bullet that emits UV light. Eric yells at Nora to scan the vampire bible to see if they can figure out what Bill is?

Bill is seeing things from vampires of whom he can’t help. Bill is transported by bloody naked chicks to a place to talk to Lillith (?) She tells him that events have already been set it motion.

Patrick’s wife confronts Terry and she thinks he’s gone off with some other woman. Terry starts to tell the wife where her husband really is, but Arlene interrupts to say that Patrick did run off with someone else.

Sookie starts walking to work when she sees a man lying on the side of the road. He’s a fairy! She helps him into her house after he tells her that he was attacked by a vampire. He passes out on her couch and she’s miffed because she’s already late for work.

A lady by the name of Nicole enters Merlotte’s to talk to him about being a shifter and how the government isn’t going to stop at vampires. As she tries to leave, her body contorts and her bones break in front of Bill. He drains her without even touching her and Jessica collapses.

We cut back to Bill in the field in the daylight with the woman and they’re talking about Adam and Eve and God. Jessica slaps him awake. Veronica from Human Edibles rings the bell at Jessica and Bill’s to offer herself up for a snack for Bill.

Later, we learn that Sookie’s new fairy friend is named Ben and she tells him of the safe place for fairies. Meanwhile, Andy is in the field looking for Morella with their kids who are now toddlers.

Jason and his grandfather are in Sookie’s bathroom where Warlow tried to break through. The grandfather broke though and back. While walking, Ben offers to take Sookie out to repay her kindness. She thinks about Bill, and he asks who he is. She tries to run off and tells him that she shouldn’t be taking walks with handsome strangers.

At the Governor’s mansion, Eric goes in for a 5:30 appointment with the Governor in someone else’s place. He is posing as someone from the department of wildlife. Eric and he ramble on for a bit, but Eric tries to glamour him. It doesn’t work and he calls the guards. He had contact lenses developed to protect him from getting glamoured. He orders the guards to take Eric to camp.

Jason introduces Sookie to Niall and they have dinner. Niall tells Sookie that Warlow is there. Niall tells Sookie that their blood is royalty and she is a fairy princess. Warlow has been after their family for thousands of years. They can channel their light into a supernova which would kill any vampire it touches. After she uses it once, she’ll be fae no longer. She manifests her light and is told that it is more powerful than the sun.

Eric is being held at the Governor’s mansion and he wants his rights read to him. They tell him that he doesn’t have any rights and he flies out of there.

At Sam’s, he is being confronted by Alcide and Martha looking for Emma to protect her. Martha tells Sam that he should turn Emma over to them. Emma runs out and says she wants to stay with Sam. Sam and Alcide get into it and Lafayette ends up getting knocked out.

Eric sees that the Governor’s daughter has removed her contact lenses so he flies outside of her window and glamours her into letting him inside. Meanwhile, Jessica is confessing her sins to her God, Bill. She asks for blessings for Jason, Sookie, Eric, Pam, Tara, Sam, Lafayette and Hoyt.

Bill comes to as a newscast comes on and they’re showing a vampire being dragged through the street. The newscaster said that vampires don’t have any rights in Louisiana, so no crime is being committed. As it turns out, Bill can see the future!
