It is with the utmost sadness that we report that the seventh season of HBO’s hit vampire drama True Blood will be its last. What a bummer, right Truebies?!?
The network announced the news on Tuesday that the show would be ending after its seventh season run ends in the summer of 2014.
Michael Lombardo, president of HBO Programming said in a statement, “True Blood has been nothing short of a defining show for HBO. Together with its legion of fans, it will be hard to say goodbye to the residents of Bon Temps, but I look forward to what promises to be a fantastic final chapter of this incredible show.”
We can’t imagine Sunday nights on HBO without watching and enjoying True Blood. It’s such a shame that this amazing show has to come to an end this soon.
The new showrunner, Brian Buckner said, “As we take a final walk through Bon Temps together, we will do our very best to bring Sookie’s story to a close with heart, imagination and, of course, fun.”
They better do a fantastic job with this show’s ending — because people will be talking about it if it’s really good or bad. And by “people”, we mean us.
TELL US: How do you think the show’s producers can bring closure to the town of Bon Temps?
