Whitney Houston inspired singers all over the world with her singing talent, but apparently she was sick of the world of entertainment. Her mother Cissy Houston says that she was fed up with all of the fame and just wanted to quit show business once and for all.
In her book, “Remembering Whitney: My Story Of Love, Loss, And The Night Music Stopped”, Cissy talks about her daughter’s life. She wrote, “I remember Nippy watching television and seeing Michael Jackson doing his thing. ‘Mommy’, she announced, I’m going to marry that boy. And I’m going to be a star.”
Still, Whitney’s life took a tragic turn as she turned to a terrible marriage to Bobby Brown and a problem with drug addiction. Cissy wrote, “I’m angry she died alone, in those conditions.”
She asked, “Was I a good mother? I still wonder if I could have saved her somehow.”
She added, “Nippy seriously considered walking away from it all. One time, she was looking out a window, and she said, ‘You know, I never asked for this madness. I couldn’t have imagined it.'”
Whitney passed away from an accidental bathtub drowning on February 11, 2012. Cissy’s book is due to hit shelves on Tuesday. Will you read it?
