Amanda Bynes was placed under a conservatorship by her parents with the help of former Britney Spears pal Sam Lutfi on Friday. The original psychiatric hold for her hospital stay was 72 hours, but we have learned that it has been extended to a two weeks. This should allow her parents, Rick and Lynn Bynes plenty of time to get a conservatorship over her affairs.
Of course her parents are breathing a sigh of relief now that the actress turned fashion student has been placed on an involuntary 5150 hold at Pasadena Hospital. They utilized Sam Lutfi’s help in generating an elaborate ruse to get her placed on lockdown and we’re sure it wasn’t an easy task whatsoever.
Bynes’ strange behavior culminated in messages directed at others on Twitter. During her previous episodes, she took to the social networking website in order to call many other celebrities “ugly”. She also said that she wanted Drake to murder her lady business.
During her most recent episodes, she claimed that she didn’t give an interview to “In Touch Weekly”, said that her father molested her and then later recanted the statement about her father only to claim that he was the one of whom microchipped her.
Since, Bynes’ siblings, Jillian O’Keefe and Tommy Bynes have come forward to defend their parents. They said in a statement, “We are disturbed beyond words that Amanda would come up with such a fabrication as a way to avoid getting much needed help or treatment. We have the most wonderful parents who have ever lived and are pained by her behavior. We absolutely give our full unconditional love and support to our wonderful parents.”
As for whether or not Bynes’ parents’ plan would work, no one was sure. A source said, “It was touch and go whether the plan would work”, adding that Bynes is “erratic and disconnected from reality.”
It was said that Bynes is struggling to make the readjustment to her life under psychiatric care, but her fans, family and friends are all surely glad that her parents were able to step in and protect her before it was too late. Kudos to them for pulling off their plan with the best execution possible.
