Ashton Kutcher became the victim of a home invasion prank when someone used a TTY service to notify 911 that the workers there were being held hostage in his home. Apparently a woman sent the message to cops via teletext, which is usually used by the deaf. She said that she was hiding in the bathroom and that there was a guy in the house with a gun. The cops “swatted” the scene, but no one with any weapons was found.
Ashton was not home during the prank and was contacted to confirm that there were workers inside his home. Afterward, cops determined that it was all a prank and are investigating the situation. A fake 911 call is a misdemeanor and if convicted, the perpetrator could face up to three years in jail.
Despite all of that, Ashton wanted all of his fans to know that everything is just fine. He took to his official Twitter account to say, “Safe and sound at two and a half men.”
