Demi Lovato Thanks Fans For Support Following Father's Death

As Earsucker.com has previously reported, X Factor judge Demi Lovato’s biological father Patrick had passed away from a long battle with cancer recently. He and Demi were seemingly estranged from one another for years leading up to his death, but she took a day off from a photoshoot to promote the upcoming season of the hit talent competition in order to take care of family business.

It was a sad day for the singer-turned-judge — even if they weren’t really that close. Her older sister Dallas took to her official Twitter page to share the sad news. Many fans and friends of Demi’s also took to the social networking service to voice their condolences and best wishes for Demi.

Pals such as Simon Cowell, Paulina Rubio, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Bella Thorne, Mario Lopez and Zendaya Coleman all gave Demi and her family their best wishes in this tough time.

It was said that Demi and her biological father weren’t really that close. That was despite his attempts at publicly stating that they had, in fact, patched up their differences. In essence, he wanted to make it look like things were peachy keen between the two, but that was not actually the case. In fact, after his statement, Demi followed it up with a statement of her own saying that things weren’t well between them.

She had also said that at the time of her statement, it had been two years since she’d spoken to him. She went on to talk about how she was the only one who was there for him, but that he kept letting her down. In effect, she said that she had to cut off all connection with him.

Despite their estrangement, we’re guessing that it still had to be hard on her to have to go through that. Even if she was merely there to provide support to those in her family who felt the loss. Demi has issued a statement of thanks to her fans, friends and “complete strangers” on her official Twitter account. Rest in peace, Patrick Lovato.
