George Clooney And Amal Alamuddin: He Calls Her 'The Smart One'

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin got married in September 2014, but he will never regret his decision to tie the knot with the human rights lawyer. In fact, he has referred to Alamuddin as the “smart one” in their marriage. Well, she was definitely the smart one to seal the deal with a Hollywood heartthrob who claimed he would never get remarried. Just how did she do it?

On Monday, the actor went unaccompanied at the SeriousFun Children’s Network Gala at Avery Fisher Hall in New York’s Lincoln Center where he lavished praise on his other half. She is currently working on a case, but he poked fun at himself while stumbling over his words and mentioned the British beauty. While paying tribute to Paul Newman, he told the guests, “Since 1988 these camps have brought over a half a million sick kids and their families from over five…from over 50 countries, 500 countries would be too many. There aren’t actually that many…My wife’s the smart one.”

Recently, it was claimed that Alamuddin ordered her famous husband to get on a diet after he was said to have gained fifteen pounds. A pal revealed, “Amal told me there are five rules for George’s new eating regime and healthy lifestyle that should get him back in shape as quickly as possible. The five rules include no alcohol, no fatty meat and less dairy products.”

The pal added, “George is a pretty disciplined guy on set but, although Amal’s new eating rules seem straightforward, he’s going to find it tough because he loves Mexican food and even binges on the fast food variety several times a week in L.A.”

Do you think Amal Alamuddin is the smart one to have snagged a guy like George Clooney? Obviously, she has it all: brains and beauty! What do you think? Despite recent reports suggesting there was a split on her birthday, it seems that the tabloids were wrong once again…imagine that.
