Newlyweds George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are featured on the cover of the newest issue of “Vanity Fair Italy”. George and Amal tied the knot in a star-studded affair on September 27, 2014 in Venice, Italy — where they met.
It was a real shock to learn that George was actually engaged in the first place — as he has said in the past that he would never get married again. He wed Talia Balsam in 1989, but they divorced in 1993. It was at that time that he claimed they were too young to be married and that he would never walk down the aisle ever again.
In fact, the actor snubbed so many women of whom he got close because of the mention of any type of real commitment. Sarah Larson went through a motorcycle accident with George and tried to get closer to getting a ring on her finger, but she was left high and dry at the mention of marriage. Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis famously said in an interview that people were saying that she was busy organizing parties and that her boyfriend does not want to marry her. She went on to say that she was a firm believer in marriage and in the future she would be married. It was shortly thereafter that she found herself as part of the single ladies population.
His love ’em and leave ’em style had gotten so bad that when he and Stay Keibler called time on their relationship, she had to come out and say that it wasn’t because of anyone wanting to get married. They broke things off with one another in July 2013, but it was said that her desire for marriage and motherhood was the culprit for the split. She denied that, claiming that they didn’t even discuss it. Funnily enough, despite her claims about marriage and motherhood, by March 2014 she was married to Jared Pobre and pregnant with his baby.
Since George has so famously claimed that he would never marry again, but has — we’re wondering if he will have children with his new bride? He said in the past that he doesn’t want to be anyone’s father, but apparently when it comes to Amal Alamuddin, he changes his mind often enough. Congratulations to the happy couple on their nuptials!
