George Clooney has recently opened up about his upcoming wedding to fiance and British lawyer Amal Alamuddin. We already knew that Clooney would be walking down the aisle with Alamuddin in Italy, but the actor has provided us with a few more details surrounding his nuptials.
During an appearance at a black tie gala in Florence, Italy, Clooney accepted a humanitarian award. At that time, he told attendees, “I met my lovely bride to be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places.”
It has been widely rumored that Clooney would wed Alamuddin at his Lake Como villa, but that has yet to be confirmed. It’s quite the coincidence that he and pal Brad Pitt will be tying the knot within 30 days of each other. We would fathom a guess that Clooney will be marrying Alamuddin on September 23rd, a month from the day that Pitt and his long-time love Angelina Jolie said their I dos.
This will mark Alamuddin’s first time down the aisle, while Clooney was previously married to Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993.
