Hilary Duff and her NHL player husband Mike Comrie have decided to call it quits on their two-and-a-half year marriage! We couldn’t have seen this one coming a mile away…they have always seemed so happy together.
Just yesterday, they made the official separation announcement to the media and it seems clear enough that they are not looking to reconcile their differences. In a statement, they said that they “have mutually decided to an amicable separation” and will “remain best friends and will continue to be in each other’s lives.”
The former couple have a two-year-old son named Luca. Hilary’s mother Susan said that they have already worked out a joint custody agreement for their son. She added of their divorce, “They’re better friends than a married couple.”
Hilary took to her official Twitter account to say, “Mike and I are sitting here, we are so appreciative for all of your kindness & well wishes. Not an easy day but we’re getting thru it together.”
It sounds as if they have already tried to work things out between themselves, but just couldn’t manage to make it work out. Either way, it sounds like this is truly an amicable split and they will stay committed to raising their son together.
