A written essay can be, in general, an essay written by a writer that conveys the writer’s main point, but again the term is often unclear, as it can refer to the contents of an essay report, book, newspaper, and even short stories. Essays are classified either informal, academic or creative. Many people confuse them and believe that an essay has to be perfect to be called one. This is incorrect. Much like most people don’t look at a car before purchasing it, neither do every essay written ever exceed the standards of perfection.

The four fundamental parts of any essay include the introduction, the body, the conclusion and finally, the discussion. Each one of them provides significant details on its own, and builds the total meaning of the essay. Introduction is the initial paragraph of an essay. It is the part that gives background information on the subject. The body of the essay is comprised of the rest of the text. The body of the essay is where the writer gives their opinion on the subject.

It is at the end that most written essays converge to an analysis of the reader’s views, conclusions, and suggestions. Essays vary between publishers as to how they prefer their final sentences to be written. Some prefer the traditional two closing ending, while others prefer the three closing. In recent times, the three-closing has been gaining ground because it closely resembles the end of any story while also providing an opportunity for the writer to emphasize important points of the essay. A strong introduction is the key to an effective essay. It either clarifies the subject of the essay or begins the essay. The body of an essay is the next part. The body of the essay is comprised of all details and arguments that support the thesis assertion. The supporting details and arguments are often referred to as supporting points. Arguments themselves can be described as thesis statements. The writing itself will support or counter the arguments in the thesis statement.

The conclusion is a crucial part of the entire essay. The conclusion is essentially a summary of and confirm the whole point of the thesis statement. The conclusion must be clear and concise however, it must be logical and convincing.

The introduction as well as the remainder of the paragraphs should provide a clear and precise overview of the subject. The introduction should give the reader an overview and introduce them to the topic. The remainder of the writing should be a reiteration or a clarification of what was first presented in the introduction. The remainder of the essay should be centered around answering questions, proving points, and providing evidence.
