It appears that Jennifer Lopez is moving on to regular television in a drama titled “Shades Of Blue”. Is Jennifer filling up her television plate with too many shows? Or is she doing this after “American Idol”? Read on to find out!
NBC announced on Friday that they will be running a 13 episode series for a new police drama. Fortunately for Jennifer, the show may not interfere with her contractual obligations to “American Idol” as the production on the new cop drama won’t begin until 2015. Reportedly, the first season won’t make its television premiere until the 2015-2016 season.
The show is said to be produced by Lopez along with “Idol” host Ryan Seacrest. “Shades Of Blue” will mark Seacrest’s first venture into drama production for television. He said in a statement, “The script is so powerful and ambitious – we can’t wait to see Jennifer take on this remarkable role.”
NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke said, “Whether it’s producing, acting, singing or any of her other many entrepreneurial activities, Jennifer is an extraordinary talent and life force, and we’re delighted to be in business with her and Adi Hasak on this sophisticated show.”
The show will center around Lopez’s character Harlee McCord who happens to be a single mother and a dirty cop. She is then recruited by the FBI’s anti-corruption task force in order to work undercover to try and redeem herself.
