Joan Rivers' Doctor Took A Selfie While She Was Unconscious

Joan Rivers passed away after what she thought would be a routine throat surgery. She went in for throat surgery at an endoscopy clinic in Manhattan, but stopped breathing and had to be hospitalized. She was then placed on life support and was fighting for her life. It all came to an end on September 4, 2014 when family members took her off of life support and she passed away. Now, new details have trickled out surrounding the late comedienne’s death.

We have since learned that she allegedly had an unplanned biopsy done during her surgery. Not only that, but the doctor whom she brought actually had the nerve to take a selfie with her unconscious patient! WTF?!?

From CNN via The Hollywood Reporter:

“A staff member at Manhattan’s Yorkville Endoscopy clinic told investigators that the doctor, who has not been publicly identified, took a selfie photo in the procedure room while Rivers was under anesthesia,” an unnamed source close to the death investigation told the cable news network.

Wow. Can you even imagine? She had something done that she didn’t sign off on and the doctor had the audacity to take a picture of him or herself during the procedure when Rivers was under anesthesia. We just hope that her daughter Melissa sues the pants off of the doctor and/or the clinic so that they make sure that this never happens to anyone else.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Do you think Rivers’ daughter should sue all of the parties involved so that the next person doesn’t have to suffer the same fate? Surely there is some malpractice going on here when Rivers thought that she was merely having routine surgery. Despite that, she knew that she would pass away going under the knife, so that was a bit prophetic. Still, we are all sad that she is gone prematurely. We figured that she still had many years in her for making people laugh. May she rest in peace.
