Now that Mariah Carey has been announced for the judging position on “American Idol”, several other names have been tossed into the hat to sit next to her at the judge’s table. Among them are Nicki Minaj, Joe Jonas and Keith Urban. Here is one name that we wouldn’t have expected to enter the list at all: Justin Bieber.
The 18-year-old Canadian singer rose to fame after becoming a YouTube sensation and amassing millions of fans. Now, he could be the youngest talent competition judge — if the rumors are true. According to the latest Hollywood gossip, Justin has been offered a whopping $25 million to become the show’s third judge.
The “National Enquirer” was the first to report the news of Justin’s offer to join the show, but worry not, it won’t be coming to fruition anytime soon. Reportedly, Justin had to decline the offer because of “upcoming commitments and touring”.
A source told the publication, “They offered him many more millions than Mariah Carey and double what J-Lo made to start. That’s because executive producer Nigel Lythgoe’s so hot on Bieber he approached him even before Steven Tyler announced he was quitting. Nigel was willing to make Justin the highest paid judge ever! Why? Because he’s convinced he’d bring in a younger demographic and put the show back in the No. 1 position.”
