Lady Gaga Cancels Indonesia Concert Over Security Fears

Lady Gaga has canceled her concert in Jakarta on Sunday over concerns for her safety. Islamic hardliners in the area claim that Gaga is a sort of “devil” and referred to her as “vulgar”. The concert was slated for June 3rd in Jakarta, but the local promoters have pulled the plug on the show altogether. Big Daddy Entertainment says that the fans will receive a full refund for tickets purchased to the show.

The outlandish singer took to her official Facebook page to say, “We had to cancel the concert in Indonesia. I’m so very sorry to the fans & just as devastated as you if not more. You are everything to me. I will try to put together something special for you. My love for Indonesia has only grown. #GagaSendsLoveToJakarta and all its people.”

The head of the hardline group Islamic Defender Front, Salim Alatas, said that Lady Gaga is a “vulgar singer who wears only panties and a bra when she sings and she stated she is the envoy of the devil’s child and that she will spread satanic teaching.”

The promoters of the concert said that its cancellation was for the protection of Lady Gaga as well as her large fan base in the area. Some have said that the hardline group purchased tickets to the concert itself so that they could “wreak havoc” from the inside.
