Glee actress Lea Michele is convinced that her late boyfriend Cory Monteith would want her to go on living a full life following his untimely death.
She said that despite his passing in July from drugs and alcohol, she is slowly coming to terms with his passing. She also said that she is doing what’s best for him by moving on with her life.
When speaking with Ellen DeGeneres, she revealed, “I really feel like I’m still trying to figure out all of this. It’s been only a few months, but my mom has experienced a lot of loss in her life and she told me at one point, there is an empowerment that comes with grief – at some point you find it.”
She went on to say, “It’s very hard but you will find it, and I think that at a certain point you can choose to sort of fall from this or you can choose to rise. And that’s what I’m just trying to do my best for him, because I know that that’s what he would have wanted.”
She added that she hopes to “make something positive for where I go in the rest of my life.”
Lea added, “It’s certainly been a pretty rough year, but I’ve been surrounded by such great people, such great family…Kate [Hudson] was so wonderful to basically give her home to myself and my family. It was so helpful to just basically have a safe place to process and just have a minute to just breathe before getting back to my house, which just has a lot of memories and stuff, so being some place else to just have a moment was really nice. I’m just so thankful to her.”
