Oscar winning “12 Years A Slave” actress Lupita Nyong’o is featured on the cover of the newest issue of “Vogue” magazine. She looks fierce, right?
In the magazine, she revealed, “Everyone said, ‘Brace yourself, Lupita! Keep a granola bar in that clutch of yours!’ I didn’t really understand what they meant, and it was only once it was past that I realized that my body had been holding on by a thread to get through this very intense experience.”
When speaking of awards season, she said, “The red carpet feels like a war zone, except you cannot fly or fight; you just have to stand there and take it.
She has talked about the entertainment industry and said that she feels it was all so sudden. She revealed, “It just feels like the entertainment industry exploded into my life. People who seemed so distant all of a sudden were right in front of me and recognizing me – before I recognized them!”
Following the SAG Awards in January, she realized that things would never be the same in her life. She said while at the airport, “For a split second I looked behind me to see who they were flashing at – and it was me! That was, I think, the beginning of the end of my anonymity.”
Great cover, isn’t it? We love that the magazine has put someone with so much depth on this particular cover. Add that to the fact that she’s a great actress and it’s a win for everyone. She sure dazzles way more than Kim Kardashian ever could and she didn’t have to beg Anna Wintour for months and wear a dress that looks like a couch in order to land the cover of the fashion bible. Two points for Vogue and Lupita Nyong’o! What do you think of her cover? Hit the comments and have your say.
