Maria Sharapova Opens Candy Company, SugarPova

Tennis champion Maria Sharapova has opened her very own candy company named SugarPova! On Monday, she opened the sweets company at New York City’s swank Henri Bendel department store. Upon winning the French Open, she called the company “the most exciting project that I’ve ever done, because it’s my own business, my own investment, my own money.”

She can afford to invest her own money, considering the fact that she made $27.1 million over the past year. According to reports, Maria and her company have designed twelve different types of candy in designer packaging. The delicious sweets will be sold for $5.99 each in addition to shipping costs. She is also donating a percentage of the profits to the Maria Sharapova Foundation, which benefits those who were affected by the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.

Does she eat her own candies? That’s what we want to know. She looks fit, so if she is, we’re guessing that she’s working out extra hard! Perhaps she’s munching on the tennis ball candies?
