Earlier today, we announced that former Disney starlet Miley Cyrus had gotten engaged to her Australian boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. Now, we’ve got your first look of the 3.5-carat diamond engagement ring from Neil Lane that Liam used to pop the question!
Isn’t it gorgeous? Liam approached Neil Lane to create the sparkler for his teen fiancee and the jeweler revealed he wanted “something unusual”. In addition, the Aussie wanted “something really beautiful and romantic”.
It’s a 3.5-carat cushion-cut diamond and 18-karat gold ring with carved diamond floral motifs. The center stone is a 19th century antique diamond. Neil revealed, “It was hand-cut around 1880 or 1890 and it’s unique in its original form. At that time no two diamonds were alike, as they were all hand-cut, so it’s fascinating to look at because it hasn’t been re-cut to look contemporary over the years. I find that really romantic.”
He went on to say, “It’s a contemporary design based on vintage aesthetics. The light flashes and sparkles no matter where Miley moves her hand.”
He added that Liam and he “worked back and forth and it’s everything he was looking for.”
Congratulations to them! What do you think of her diamond engagement ring?
