Paris Jackson Didn't Understand Childhood Masks

Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris has spoken to talk show titan Oprah Winfrey about the masks that she and her brothers had to wear as children. Michael was a proponent of protecting his children’s privacy and thus felt that the masks were a necessity in accomplishing as much normalcy as possible.

Michael didn’t want his three children photographed, so he routinely made them wear masks. Paris said that she was unsure as to why her father made them wear masks. Now, she revealed that she does understand the meaning of the disguises. She told Oprah, “I was really confused, I didn’t get why I was wearing a mask. But I understand it now…why my dad would want our faces to be covered.”

She also said that she and her brothers were allowed to out sans mask if their father wasn’t with them. She revealed, “When we went out without him, we wouldn’t be recognized, we would have a normal childhood.”
