The Bachelorette Allowed Twitter Messages On Monday & Here's How That Ended

You know how some shows will show a particular hashtag on Twitter during the telecast of the show? Dancing With The Stars sometimes did it with the #DWTS hashtag and then you could rejoice if your message ever made it to air. On Monday, during the airing of The Bachelorette, the alphabet network opted to give it a whirl — but the results were funnier than they probably imagined.

One woman by the name of Alexa Stout took to her Twitter account to share, “I wish the tweets at the bottom of the screen would go away on the bachelorette. #noonecares”. As you can see in the screenshot above, that was the message that played on the screen while Desiree Hartsock was busy on a date.

What do you think of the network displaying live tweets during a show? Is it an annoyance for you or do you think it adds to the entertainment experience? Besides all of that, does the person in charge of which Twitter messages to air still have a job after this funny snafu?
