Transformers Tops ‘Worst Film’ List At Razzie Awards With 7 Nominations

Transformers Age of Extinction and Razzies

Director Michael Bay has the dubious honor of claiming the largest number of nominations at this years Razzies. His movie “Transformers: Age of Extinction” has received Razzie Awards nods, including worst picture, screenplay and director.

Transformers was deemed so bad that it beat out other huge flops that included “The Legend of Hercules” and the critically lambasted Kirk Cameron faith-based film “Saving Christmas.” The Cameron film has six nominations for the “worst achievements in film.”

The nominations were revealed on Tuesday by organizers of the 35th Golden Raspberry Awards.

The tongue-in-cheek awards show will announce this years winners on February 21, just one night before the Academy Awards.

While “Transformers: Age of Extinction” might be classified as the worst film of the year, Michael Bay laughed all the way to the bank with $245 million in domestic ticket sales and $1 billion in worldwide box office earnings.

Worst picture nominees also include “Hercules,” “Saving Christmas,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and the thriller “Left Behind” starring Nicolas Cage.

For worst actress in a romantic comedy Cameron Diaz was nominated for the films “The Other Woman” and “Sex Tape” and for worst supporting actress for “Annie.” Also nominated for “Sex Tape” is Diaz’s co-star Jason Segel.

Family Guy and Ted creator Seth MacFarlane also picked up several nods for his Western satire “A Million Ways to Die in the West. He was nominated for worst actor alongside co-star Charlize Theron, and for worst director.

Kelsey Grammer earned a worst supporting actor nomination for four films in 2014: “Expendables 3,” “Legends of Oz,” “Think Like a Man Too” and “Transformers.”

While Adam Sandler is no stranger to the Razzie’s, he picked up only one nomination this year for the movie “Blended.” Also scoring a Razzie nomination for the film was co-star Drew Barrymore.

Be on the look out for the “Reedemer” award this year. As the name suggests, this award goes to a past Razzie winner who turned around to deliver an amazing performance in a new movie. Redeemer nominees include Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Mike Myers, Keanu Reeves and Kristen Stewart.

Are you excited to see who wins the most Razzie’s?
